Start healing now

You can start healing today. On this page I’ll list a bunch of resources that helped me out in my process of healing. This process took me years, and I don’t want you to feel overwhelmed, feeling like you have to master all this in an afternoon. This is a masterlist. You can come back here as many times as you’d like, picking whatever topic you feel like working with on a particular day. Allowing yourself time and space to process everything is essential. Allowing yourself to have fun in between difficult thoughts and feelings is so useful. You can work on your mental health every day, but there is no deadline and there is no right way of healing. If you’re just starting out, finding what works for you is your only job. That means trying things out, not getting attached to certain experiences, feelings or outcomes. Think of it like trying different methods of assisting your healing, while rating or reviewing the thing you’re doing. You want to try shadow work? Try shadow work. Take it seriously and take your time, but don’t get stuck on a specific outcome. Just observe what it does for you. Also be mindful that healing childhood trauma or any kind of mental illness can be triggering. We often talk about triggers like it’s something to be avoided, or only touched on while in the presence of a mental health professional. To some extend that can be true. It can be triggering to work with and dive into difficult things we’ve been through in the past. I do not recommend doing shadow work if you’re in a very vulnerable mental space. Instead, start with something lighter, like daily activities that add to your day, not deplete it.
